Privacy Policy
PDF Tools: Editor & Converter · Developed by AlexaMods Labs · Effective August 11, 2026
01 Introduction
PDF Tools: Editor & Converter ("the application") is designed around local document processing on your Android device. This Privacy Policy explains how the application handles information, and clearly distinguishes between two categories of activity:
- Document processing performed by the application — editing, converting, compressing, and scanning PDF files.
- Third-party advertising and consent services — functionality provided by Google that supports the application's advertising and applicable privacy-consent requirements.
This policy describes the application's current architecture. It does not state that no data ever leaves your device, because the application uses third-party advertising and consent services that operate independently of the application's own document-processing functionality.
02 Local document processing
Based on the current application architecture, PDF processing is performed locally on your device rather than through an app-operated document-processing server.
- PDF processing uses the iText library, running locally on the device.
- The application does not use a networking library such as Retrofit or Ktor for document handling.
- The application does not operate an app-controlled cloud document-processing backend.
This description reflects the application's current design. It is not a claim about the internal behavior of the Android operating system, your device manufacturer's software, or any third-party service described elsewhere in this policy.
03 OCR / Google ML Kit
The application uses Google ML Kit for text recognition. The configured text-recognition functionality operates on-device.
This statement describes the application's own intentional behavior. It does not represent that every component of Google ML Kit, or every Google service integrated into the Android platform, operates in a fully offline manner in all circumstances.
04 Permissions
The application requests the following Android permissions:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| CAMERA | Used for document scanning. |
| Files / media access | The application uses Android's Storage Access Framework and the system file picker instead of requesting broad storage access. |
| INTERNET | Used for advertising functionality and privacy/consent-related services. |
Permissions are used for the purposes described above. You can review and manage granted permissions at any time through Android's system settings for the application.
05 Advertising
The application's third-party advertising provider is Google AdMob. Advertising services may process advertising-related information, which may include device identifiers and other information permitted by the provider and applicable settings.
For details on how Google processes information in connection with advertising services, see the official Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
06 Google UMP / Consent
The application uses the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP).
- UMP is used for privacy/advertising consent management where applicable.
- Depending on your region and applicable requirements, you may receive a consent or privacy-choice dialog.
- Your consent choices can affect advertising personalization where applicable.
The consent mechanism is intended to help manage applicable advertising privacy choices. This description does not constitute a guarantee of compliance with any specific legal framework.
07 Data processing summary
The table below summarizes how each category of activity is handled.
| Category | Application processing | Third-party processing |
|---|---|---|
| Documents | Local device processing | No app-operated document-processing cloud |
| OCR | On-device processing | No app-operated OCR cloud |
| Advertising | N/A | Google AdMob |
| Consent | N/A | Google UMP |
| File selection | Android system picker | Android system mechanisms |
08 Data retention
Documents processed by the application are stored and managed according to your device and Android's file-management behavior. AlexaMods Labs does not operate a cloud document repository for this application.
Because retention of your files depends on your device's storage and your own file-management actions, this policy does not state a fixed retention period.
09 Android backup
The application's manifest sets android:allowBackup="false".
This setting does not prevent every possible form of cloud storage, synchronization, screenshotting, sharing, or backup that you may initiate yourself, for example by manually exporting or sharing a file from within the application or your device.
10 Security
The application's approach to security includes:
- Local document processing on the device
- On-device OCR via Google ML Kit
- Use of the Android Storage Access Framework for file access
- A limited, purpose-specific set of requested permissions
android:allowBackup="false"configuration- Transparent disclosure of third-party services
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and the application does not claim to be 100% secure, unhackable, or protected by "military-grade encryption." See the Security & Privacy page for further detail.
11 Children's privacy
The application is not specifically designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through an app-operated backend, as the application does not operate such a backend for document processing.
This policy does not claim compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or any similar framework, as such compliance has not been independently verified. Third-party advertising providers integrated into the application, including Google AdMob and Google UMP, may have their own separate age-related policies and requirements, which operate independently of this policy.
12 Third-party services
13 User choices
You have the following controls available:
- Android permission controls, accessible through your device's system settings
- The Android file picker, used to choose which files the application can access
- Advertising and privacy-consent controls, where presented by the application through Google UMP
- Device-level advertising settings, provided by Android
This policy does not describe application settings that do not currently exist within the application.
14 Policy changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated when:
- Application functionality changes
- Third-party services change
- Privacy practices change
- Legal requirements change
